In the Beginning – I have been sewing for over 45 years. My grandma enjoyed making garments and my grandpa, who worked at White Sewing Machine Co. in Cleveland, Ohio, could also sew.

They piqued my interest and intrigued me. My grandma made me beautiful dresses, some with elegant leg-of-mutton sleeves. She also made my Halloween costumes, such as a roaring ’20s flapper dress covered with swaying black fringe. I knew I wanted to sew like her one day!

I developed an interest in sewing while in high school home economics classes. I began sewing many of my own garments, including my prom dresses and, eventually, my own wedding gown. 

Growth – I started a home-based sewing business after the birth of my 3rd child. After much success, I moved into my first retail sewing studio where I accepted orders for quilts, bridal gowns, prom dresses, christening gowns, costumes, home decor, alterations, and more. I have received awards for “Best Pageant Gown”, “Best Costume” and quilting “Best Workmanship”. 

Today – After a move to Tennessee in 2016, I purchased an APQS Lucey longarm machine and decided to solely concentrate on my passions, quilting and pattern design, Business grew and I purchased a second longarm in 2023, the APQS Millie with computerized Quilt Path system. I completed the APQS quilting course and am now an APQS Certified Technician. I operate out of my newly built 24′ x 36′ home studio. I also love teaching, with the hope of igniting this quilting passion in others.
